This Privacy Policy describes how Torchingale (“Torchingale”, “we”, “us” or “our”) processes information in connection with the mobile application Kansopace (the “App”).
By downloading, accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
The App does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos or any other directly identifying personal information. The App contains no advertising and does not collect advertising identifiers.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Your room and its items, notes, focus statistics and subjects, mon balance, profile name and avatar, and settings are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to, received by or accessible to Torchingale.
Your device may include this data in its own backup (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iOS), under your account with Google or Apple and their terms. Torchingale has no access to these backups.
When you choose Share your room, the App creates an image on your device and passes it to the share sheet of your operating system. It is sent only where you choose to send it.
3. Information Processed by Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services, which may process limited technical data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage events, such as which screens are opened, when focus sessions and breaks start, finish or stop and their length, items bought with mon, purchases, room photos shared and review prompts shown; together with device model, operating system version, application version, language, approximate country (derived by Google from the IP address) and a random app instance identifier. The content of your notes, subject names and profile name is never sent. Advertising storage and personalisation are always denied.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — diagnostic and crash data, including device model, operating system version, application version, the error and its location in the App’s code, and a random installation identifier, used solely to detect and resolve technical faults.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and the restoring of purchases. Torchingale does not receive or store your payment card details.
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics run only while Settings → Privacy → “Share usage data” is on. It is on by default and you can turn it off at any time; the choice is applied every time the App starts.
4. Purposes and Legal Bases
Where applicable law (including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation) requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining the stability and security of the App and in understanding how its features are used, and on the performance of our contract with you in respect of purchases.
5. Data Retention
Locally stored data remains on your device until you uninstall the App. Usage and diagnostic data are retained by Google for the periods set out in its own policies.
6. Permissions
The App may request permission to show notifications, so it can tell you when a session ends and show the running countdown. On Android it runs a foreground service while a session is active, and it may use vibration. On iOS it may show a Live Activity. Permissions may be revoked at any time through your device settings.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly process their personal data.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. As we do not hold identifying information about you, requests concerning third-party services should be directed to the relevant provider. 9. Changes
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any amended version will be published within the App or on our website and takes effect upon publication.
