Back to Memoly

Do I need an account?

No. Memoly has no accounts. Open the app and start writing.

Where are my notes stored?

On your phone. Torchingale has no server for Memoly, so your notes are never uploaded to us. They leave your phone only when you export, share or back them up yourself.

How do I move my notes to a new phone?

Go to Settings > Backup & Restore > Export backup file and save the .memoly file anywhere you like. On the new phone, choose Import backup file. Importing replaces the notes on that phone.

Can I search text inside photos and documents?

Yes. Text in photos (Latin alphabets) is read on your phone, and PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, EPUB, HTML, RTF and text files up to 25 MB become searchable when you attach them. You can turn this off in Settings.

Can reminders repeat?

Yes: daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, or on specific weekdays, each with its own time.

What can the voice assistant do?

In English or Turkish it can save a quick note, start a new note, pin a note or open a folder such as Archive or Private. It uses your phone's speech recognition.

Does Memoly work offline?

Writing, organising, reminders, search, text recognition and backups all work offline. Link previews, and on some phones speech recognition, need an internet connection.

Is Memoly free?

Yes. There are no purchases and no ads.
